With people flocking to the countryside and the new academic year just a few months away, finding a home near a good school is at the top of the list for our family buyers at the moment. We are very lucky in our part of the world, as there are plenty of great primary and secondary schools – whether state or private – to choose from, so we’ve put together some of our houses for sale which offer access to outstanding educational options right on their doorstep.

Neville House, Oakham

Neville House is a seven bed town house located just a four minute drive from Oakham School – a co-educational day and boarding school for 10-18 year olds – with Uppingham School 12 minutes which takes children from 13. Nearby state secondary schools include Casterton College (15 mins) and Catmose College (4 mins) for children 11 – 16, and sixth form Harington School (4 mins). There are also various primary schools in the town such as Brook Priory School (3 mins), Oakham CoE Primary School (5 mins), Catmose Primary (4 mins) and Brooke Hill Academy (4 mins).

3 Wheatsheaf Mews, Upper Benefield

This four bedroom mews house is a seven minute drive from Oundle School which has long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. The nearby state secondary is Prince William School which has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. Primary school options also include Prince William School, as well as Oundle CE Primary School which was recognised as being ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

Willow Lodge, Fleet nr Holbeach

This six bedroom family home is in catchment for the superb state grammar schools (requiring 11+ entrance) of Spalding High (for girls) and Spalding Grammar (for boys) with free buses passing the door. Primary options closeby include Fleet Wood Lane School and Holbeach Primary Academy which are both rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, whilst University Academy Holbeach is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form.

27 Hereward Place, Stamford

Stamford is close to some of the country’s top independent schools and a decent state senior school – Stamford Welland Academy – which has gradually improved its reputation over the years. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to private education with Oakham, Oundle and Uppingham within 20 miles, however if you want something a bit closer to home then Stamford Junior School and Stamford High School (the Stamford Endowed Schools) are right next to this three bedroom house. Meanwhile, Bourne Grammar School is one of the highest rated schools in the area, whilst there are a number of ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ primary schools to choose.

Vine House, Carlby

There are numerous primary schools around Carlby, to include Witham Hall Prep School which is a private school and just a six minute drive away from Vine House. Kirkstone House School, along with the Oakham, Uppingham and Oundle schools are super options if you’re going down the independent secondary school route whilst Bourne Grammar School, Arthur Mellows Village College and The King’s School are some of the highly rated state senior schools nearby.
